Michael Lemongelli

Michael Lemongelli Michael Lemongelli has been playing the drums for over 15 years. He was in the Piscataway Superchiefs Marching Band, Edison High School Marching Band, Edison High School Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble and the Kean University Percussion Ensemble; he has had numerous solos in performing with these ensembles and won awards as the Best Soloist in competitions.

Michael also studied privately under the expertise of Mark Mentor (instructor Piscataway Superchief Drum-line), Pat Petrillo (The Drum Collective Manhattan, sponsored by Zildjian Cymbals, Ludwig), and Dr. James Musto (professional percussionist with the New York/New Jersey Symphony Orchestra also sponsored by Vic Firth sticks and mallets, Zildjian cymbals, and Musser orchestral percussion) under whom he studied at Kean University, where he was enrolled in the Music Education curriculum.

Michael is well versed in sight-reading, theory, tympani, mallets, random percussion (conga, traps), and most of all snare drum and drum set. Most recently he has studied under the independent instruction of Blake Fleming who was mostly recognized for his work with progressive rockers The Mars Volta. Michael is also proficient in the ever growing field of electronic music, including programs such as Ableton, Reason, Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, and Cakewalk.
